Bournemouth have contacted Roma to ask about another loan deal for Matias Viña after his spell at the club last season.

That’s according to Il Messaggero, relayed by Voce Giallorossa, who say the defender will leave Rome this summer unless there are any ‘sensational surprise

They explain that despite Bournemouth not electing to take up an option to sign Viña after his loan spell last season, they have ‘knocked on Roma’s door’ for a new loan this year.

The Cherries are aware the Uruguayan has a contract with the Giallorossi until 2026 so believe another loan deal is possible and are trying to get him back with the same formula they agreed when he joined in the January transfer window.

Roma have ‘slowed down’ that proposal because they want to sell the player and make money on him if they can.

If they were to open to a loan deal it would one with an obligation to buy included, albeit dependent on Bournemouth once again avoiding relegation.

Whether the Cherries are interested in such a proposal remains to be seen but they have contacted Roma about a potential deal nonetheless.
