Chase suffered a hard fall on his back during the win after going up for a pass that fell incomplete in the second half. After the incident, he was clearly favouring his back, but he finished the game and even made a great catch in the fourth quarter.
Then, in talks with local media on Monday, Chase made it sound like his status for Week 10 vs. the Houston Texans (+6.5) was secure.
Put $10 on HOU to beat CIN:
Lose by less than 6.5 percent: $19.26
To Lose: $13.28 is in jeopardy due to his back.
Chase didn’t explain when he hurt his back during the game, only that it became worse as the night went on and that he’s still sore.
Outside of saying Chase is sore and they’re taking it day by day, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor didn’t add much.
Chase also stated that he will receive more information on Tuesday and is unsure of his fate for the Bengals’ game against the Texans.
There’s also this from The Fantasy Doctors, which implies it could be a back contusion that only keeps Chase out for a short time.If Chase is out, the Bengals will rely heavily on Tee Higgins, who is recovering from a rib fracture suffered in Week 4 but looked like himself in Sunday’s win against the Bills, catching eight catches for 110 yards.
Let’s hope Uno doesn’t miss much, if any, time as the Bengals try to keep their postseason hopes alive.
For what it’s worth, the Bengals opened as seven-point favourites over the Texans on DraftKings before of Sunday’s game against Buffalo.
