Tottenham Hotspur have left the 26-year-old astonished, and he may potentially leave in January.

Jesus Perez, who is the assistant to Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino, has aimed a cheeky dig at Tottenham ahead of the Blues’ clash with Spurs. The Spaniard will be alongside his Argentine counterpart in the dugout on Monday night despite having admitted to a misconduct charge from the FA earlier this week.

Perez was adjudged to have shown improper conduct when he entered the opposition technical area during Chelsea’s meeting with Brentford at Stamford Bridge last weekend. He was fined £4,000 for his actions and accepted his charge.

Following the Blues’ defeat to Thomas Frank’s side, Pochettino apologised on Perez’s behalf. He said: “I think he deserves to be fined, to be punished because you cannot go. I need to apologise to Brentford coaching staff because we cannot go into the Brentford area.

“He knows he made a mistake. Being fair he wanted to win, wanted to help the team to get the ball and to start the play. I think the attitude of Jesus, we want this type of behaviour but he forgot that this season is a new rule, if you go to another technical area, it’s enough.”
