Philippe Clement is ultimately still learning about his Rangers squad after taking the Ibrox reins in October.

Three league wins in a row is a great start but Clement is still forming opinions ahead of the January transfer window.

That will include first-team players and youngsters looking to break in, with one prospect seemingly impressing the Rangers boss.

Philippe Clement wants to keep Ross McCausland at Rangers

The Daily Record now report that Rangers are keen to get winger Ross McCausland tied down to a new contract.

It’s stated that clubs in both UK and Europe are eyeing McCausland with his contract up at the end of the season.

Rangers would be due around £300,000 in compensation should that happen, five times the £60,000 Rangers paid for him in 2019.

Rangers don’t want it to get that far though and will now push to keep the wide man.

Clement is understood to be personally pushing for McCausland to stay at Ibrox having been impressed with him.

Rangers now plan to hold talks with McCausland and his representatives this week in the hope of thrashing out a deal.
