Tottenham Hotspur are set to welcome a new addition to its staff in the form of Rob MacKenzie, the former recruitment director for Aston Villa.

MacKenzie is expected to join the club as their new chief scout next week, according to various reports today including Telegraph’s Matt Law. Rob Mackenzie has left Aston Villa and will join Tottenham as chief scout next week – linking back up with Johan Lange, who has made the same move. Mackenzie has worked at Tottenham before in the past

He will reunite him with Johan Lange, who earlier today started his new role as technical director at Tottenham.

The decision to bring in MacKenzie and Lange reflects the ongoing changes at the club following the arrival of manager Ange Postecoglou during the summer.

MacKenzie had previously spent 18 months at Tottenham and his return is seen as a significant step in enhancing the club’s scouting and recruitment efforts.

The changes and appointments made since the summer have been nothing but positive, and the club’s recent form in the league which sees them sit at the top of the Premier League table has added to the optimism among Tottenham fans.

These changes, along with the reported shift towards allowing new personnel to excel in their roles without heavy involvement from Chairman Daniel Levy, have generated excitement about the club’s future.

Tottenham are currently unbeaten in the league and have a 2 point lead over arch rivals Arsenal. They are also 5 points ahead of Manchester City.

The January transfer window will be a crucial period which could potentially decided whether Spurs are in the race for the title or not.

And the new appointments made are going have their plates full.
