Damian Lillard was not acquired by the Miami Heat during the summer.
For the Pat Riley administration, that has become a concerning pattern as they have been unable to acquire Donovan Mitchell, Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and now Lillard in addition to failing to move Kyle Lowry.
That was undoubtedly a huge setback to their hopes of winning a championship, especially in light of the fact that Jimmy Butler had been actively courting Lillard during the offseason. That’s why Butler might have sent a message to the front office after the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Heat by posting a photo of Lillard defending him on his Instagram account (via Legion Hoops).
Although they no longer have any titles to show for it, the Heat have managed to compete at the greatest level throughout the playoffs.
It’s unlikely that they’ll return to the NBA Finals this season absent a dramatic turn of circumstances, as the talent gap between them and other Eastern Conference contenders widened considerably this offseason.
In the NBA’s Eastern Conference, the Miami Heat have grown into a formidable force. America’s favourite NBA anti-hero, Jimmy Butler, donned a “emo” costume for a preseason news conference.
Shaquille O’Neal, a former Heat player and NBA icon, honoured Butler’s pre-Halloween, non-Halloween costume on Halloween by parodying his “emo” remarks, which had people laughing on Twitter.
Butler recently received backlash on social media for an unconventional viewpoint that shocked followers. The new “Heat Culture” jerseys, which are unlike anything most fans have ever seen, were unveiled to Heat supporters.
