Given the most recent information regarding David Moyes’ contract status, many West Ham United supporters have stated it’s time for him to quit the team.
The Scotsman’s Hammers contract is in its last year and is scheduled to expire at the conclusion of the current campaign.
Despite winning West Ham’s first major title in forty-three years, he is still seen with controversy by the supporters due to his inconsistent Premier League play and charges of managing sterile football.
Although the Hammers had a great start to the league season this year, Moyes has lost three straight games across all competitions and has not won any of the team’s last four games.
Following their Sunday, October 29, loss to relegation-threatened Everton, West Ham is now ranked ninth in the Premier League after ten games.
One West Ham supporter attacked Moyes’ handling of the Hammers’ young player Divin Mubama and said he may damage his reputation if he does not leave the team right now.
Another stated that while the board hopes Moyes will go at the conclusion of this season, they will not fire him before his contract expires.
While emphasising his appreciation for the seasoned manager, one supporter maintained that bad outings weren’t a “one-off” and that his contract shouldn’t be extended.
One supporter expressed concern that if the club retains Moyes on staff, things would turn “toxic” behind closed doors.
One more suggested that the team should continue with Moyes for the rest of the campaign, speculating that this would buy the team the time they need to find a viable long-term replacement.
