BAD NEWS: The injury to the Rangers’ key player will keep him out for more than two years.

Alfredo Morelos could be out for the next two weeks due to the injury sustained in Rangers’ home victory over Dundee United.

The Colombian striker was stretchered off following a high challenge by Dundee United defender Ryan Edwards. Edwards avoided any punishment during the game but is expected to learn later on Tuesday if he’ll face retrospective for the tackle.

Morelos had a deep gash in his knee and although Steven Gerrard said he feared the worst initially, the Ibrox boss said after the match that the frontman may have an outside chance for Thursday’s match against Lincoln Red Imps.

However it has now emerged that he’ll miss out, and will also be unavailable for the weekend’s clash with Hibs. Record Sport say he’ll likely miss two weeks of action.

Morelos met with his agent Michael Gorman in Glasgow on Monday amid speculation linking him with a move to Italian side Fiorentina. However there are no new bids for the Rangers player.
