The Greek media hasn’t been kind to Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa as he continues his loan at Olympiacos.
The player has played in just six games since his summer transfer, totaling just 319 minutes on the field. He has also missed their last three league games.
In a report published today, the Greek publication SportDog discusses the Nottingham Forest loanee and suggests that his time there shouldn’t last too long.
First off, the site remarks that since moving to England, he has “lost pace,” despite his “tremendous quality.”
Journalist Yannis Douzgos was invited by SportDog to discuss the subject when it was reported that he would return to Brazil. He mentioned Flamengo as one of the teams that might be interested in signing him.
“If nothing else changes, he will wind up at Palmeiras either on loan or through a consortium sale. They could sign him on a two-year contract, for instance, and then move him on a regular basis after that.
Given that Tite, who currently sits on their bench, was the coach who brought Scarpa to the Brazilian national team, Flamengo would possibly be interested in his case. After all, Flamengo is a financially successful team in Latin America.
Scarpa’s contract with Nottingham Forest expires in 2026, and given the current state of affairs,
Scarpa’s unwillingness to go back to Brazil this summer is the issue, so he’ll either have to reconsider or look for another opportunity in Europe.
