Crystal Palace midfielder Malachi Boateng has agreed a deal to join Dundee on loan, sources have told Football Insider.

The 21-year-old is heading north of the border after Palace gave him the green light to complete the move.

Boateng spent last season on loan in the Scottish Championship with Queen’s Park and he impressed during his stint in Scotland.

Dundee boss Tony Docherty is keen to strengthen his squad as they prepare for life back in the Scottish Premiership and he sees Boateng as a key addition to his plans.

The midfielder made 41 appearances for Queen’s Park last season in a campaign that saw them narrowly miss out on promotion to the Premiership.

The Spiders finished 3rd in the second division last term but lost out to Partick Thistle in both legs of their play-off quarter final.

He scored three goals and provided two assists and was in the starting lineup for every game he featured in across all competitions.

Boateng has spent ten years with Palace and worked his way through the age groups but has not featured for the first team despite 53 appearances for the youth sides.
