Prior to the weekend journey to the city, both of them have somewhat positive news despite missing Leicester City’s 1-0 victory over Sunderland on Tuesday night.
Wilfred Ndidi and Yunus Akgun might be added back to the Leicester City team for their trip to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
Tuesday night’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Sunderland by City put them eight points clear atop the table, but the two missed out. Ndidi was rested, although Yunus was absent after hobbling off in the team’s previous match against Swansea.
Yunus is the more likely of the two to return at Loftus Road, since his scan results are obvious. He should be back in the gym before the end of the week, according to Enzo Maresca.
For Ndidi, it’s up in the air. In order to see if he can get past what Maresca has called a “little bit more than tiredness,” City intends to give him a few days off.
“Yunus is okay,” Maresca declared following Sunderland’s 1-0 victory. “He might train with us in two or three days and join us on Saturday.”
Wilf requires certain days, and we don’t want to take chances because of his fatigue, which is more than just fatigue. We’ll see if he plays (on Saturday).
By the end of this week, Kasey McAteer (hamstring) and Tom Cannon (back) might also be able to resume training. Though not with their teammates yet, they are both already working out on the grass. However, it might take them a few more weeks to be prepared for a game.
Callum Doyle (knee) and Dennis Praet (back) are the club’s two long-term injuries. Praet was supposed to make his comeback in mid-to late-November, but Doyle might not play until January.
