As Cardiff City prepare to face Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium, Erol Bulut expects a significant improvement from his players. Following a three-match winless streak, the Bluebirds have slid to 11th in the Championship.

Bulut was dissatisfied with his team’s performance in Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Blackburn Rovers. Joe Rankin-Costello’s second-half goal proved decisive, leaving Cardiff two points behind the play-off places.

“I told my players inside, this game, we have to forget,” Bulut remarked after Rovers’ defeat. We must concentrate quickly for Tuesday. I want to see a different team on the pitch, to make up for the three points we lost [against Blackburn].”

Due to injuries, the Turkish coach will be unable to rely on a number of crucial players against the Terriers tonight. Kion Etete is currently recovering from a hamstring injury, and midfielders Callum O’Dowda and Aaron Ramsey are out.

O’Dowda underwent groyne surgery and is not expected to return to the pitch until December. Ramsey, on the other hand, is on the mend after suffering a knee injury. “He’s already started running slowly,” Bulut added. “He is doing well,” Bulut said.

I’m shocked how quickly [the recuperation] goes. I hope it continues in this manner.”

The Bluebirds’ scoring has dwindled in recent weeks. They’ve only found the back of the net once in their last three games.
