Five Parramatta Eels players are currently sidelined for selection because of injury.

In the first round, three players were hurt, including Sean Russell, a winger who is currently hospitalised after sustaining a broken rib and a punctured lung.

The club will issue an update once Russell’s prognosis is more apparent. They are unsure of when Russell will return.

With a hamstring injury, Ryan Matterson will be sidelined for some time, and Marata Niukore has a calf ailment.

While Haze Dunster is sidelined for the whole season due to injuries to his ACL, MCL, and PCL, Maika Sivo is still recovering from an ACL rupture.
