Daine Laurie, a fullback for the Wests Tigers, shattered his leg during Friday night’s loss to the Warriors at Suncorp Stadium, and the team announced that he had played his final game of the season.
In the first moments of the game, Laurie went down and was carried off.
Laurie was not there when the Tigers lost 18–16 against the struggling Warriors, who could hardly field a full team after losing Roger Tuivasa–Sheck and Leeson Ah Mau.
Even though Michael Maguire’s team led 10-0 at the beginning of the game, they crumbled in the second half.
Although Laurie’s injury was not an excuse, the coach wasn’t pleased with the way the second half went.
“I believe Moses (Mbye) returned there, and in the first half, we demonstrated our abilities.” They followed the plan in the first half and didn’t in the second. He remarked, “They invited the opposition to get back into the game.
