Just one day after his younger sibling was taken into custody, the brother of a junior player for the Wests Tigers has also been charged with the murder of Dejan “Danny” Radulovic.

Eti Tavui, 21, made an appearance via videolink before Liverpool Local Court on Thursday, blowing kisses to his family and fans.

He was charged with murder and disobeying an order directing the access to digital evidence after his detention at Liverpool Station on Wednesday.

As they left the courtroom, one of his fans seemed to shove a journalist.

In response, the journalist asked the man to refrain from pushing him.

At 3:40 p.m. on July 29, after hearing reports of an assault, police were dispatched to Donnelly Street in Balmain, where Mr. Radulovic passed away.

When the officers arrived, Mr. Radulovic had serious injuries to his head and torso.

He was attended to by paramedics at the site and subsequently taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he passed away. An autopsy subsequently revealed that he had sustained gunshot wounds.

Radulovic spent nine months in prison for drug delivery before being released from custody earlier this year.

According to police sources, Mr. Radulovic was hurt after an altercation with two males. The men are believed to have left in a white jeep, which was subsequently discovered to have burned out at Five Dock.

Police accused 19-year-old Masei Tavui of killing Mr. Radulovic on Tuesday.

Masei Tavui has competed in junior events for the Wests Tigers for the previous four years as a member of the club’s junior divisions.

He did not have a contract until 2024.

Eti, his 21-year-old brother, was also charged on Wednesday.

He is scheduled to return to court in December, but he did not request bail when he was there on Thursday.

Panthers player Jarome Luai is expected to make an announcement about his signing with Black Money Enterprises, his management organisation.

Danny Weidler of Channel 9 claims that Luai will test his worth on the open market soon, which is the most certain indication to far.

He was informed that he may explore his options elsewhere, though, and that the Panthers could only give a maximum of $800,000 each season.

Luai may be worth more than $1.1 million on the open market because he won three straight premierships at the base of the mountain.

“Jarome is cognizant of the organization’s salary cap capability going forward,” News Corp. was informed by Penrith CEO Matt Cameron.

Since Jarome has a contract that expires at the end of 2024, we don’t think it’s necessary to accelerate these discussions.

“Jarome, a three-time Premier League player, is sure to draw attention when he becomes available for trade.”

Brodie Croft, a former halfback for the Broncos, is said to have turned down offers to play in the NRL and instead committed to a $2 million deal with Leeds in the Super League.

As per The Daily Telegraph, NRL teams were reportedly considering hiring the playmaker who is now at Salford. On Wednesday, the Rhinos made his signing official.

With his 2022 Man of Steel victory, Croft is expected to rank among the highest paid players in the Super League.

Croft was a key member of Salford’s run to the 2022 finals, and it is rumoured that the Titans, Wests Tigers, and Dragons had previously inquired about signing him.

Croft was also supposedly going to sign a lucrative nine-year contract to play for the Red Devils through 2030, but in order to relieve financial pressure on the team, he was traded for a $300,000 transfer fee.

The halfback left the Broncos following the 2021 season, having gone through a difficult period under Anthony Seibold in Red Hill.

He did, however, later reverse course in the Super League, and his current assignment is to help the Rhinos, who placed seventh in 2023, improve.

English recruitment for Raiders

Super League premiership champion Morgan Smithies is another Englishman that the Raiders are expected to sign.

According to Yorkshire Live The adaptable forward Smithies, who made his debut for his country this year, has almost signed to a contract with Canberra for the following year.

Fogarty’s was contracted until the end 2024 which meant he was headed for the open market on November 1, but the 29-year-old has re-signed and has an option for 2026 which will be activated if the halfback plays a certain amount of games, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Fogarty’s signing gives Canberra a little more clarity about what their halves situation will look like over the next two years with Jack Wighton leaving to play for Souths.

Sea Eagles rising star Kaeo Weekes has reportedly signed with Canberra, although nothing has been announced. Weekes can play both five-eighth and fullback.

Another player who may take over as the five-eighth in 2024 is the teenage wonder Ethan Strange, who made his NRL debut for the Raiders this season at centre.

The Raiders are wise to lock onto Fogarty, who has one of the league’s top kicking games, given the dearth of good halves available.
