The Green Bay Packers rose from being one of the NFL’s youngest teams to being one in just one off-season. The Packers brought in a new era through trade and their decision to not re-sign numerous seasoned free agents. Having said that, it could be worthwhile to investigate any young player who becomes available and who could help the club.

The 2023 season is not going well for the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are without a win after six games and could be having a fire sale as the trade deadline draws near. As they permitted one of their youngest players to look for a move, that became increasingly clear.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. has received permission to seek a trade, sources told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Thursday.

The Panthers (0-6) have discussed the matter with agent Vince Taylor and the team says Marshall is welcome back if a trade does not materialize, the sources said.

He has 16 catches for 114 yards in five games, including two starts, this season.

After not playing in a Week 5 loss to the Detroit Lions, he had no catches on three targets in Carolina’s Week 6 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Marshall has not had much of an offensive effect despite being healthy the entire season. He dressed and was active for the Panthers’ Week Five loss to the Lions, but he did not play a single snap on the pitch. Marshall later stated that he couldn’t figure out why he wasn’t included.

With base pay of $1.1 million this year and $1.4 million the following, Marshall’s deal continues through 2024, so the Packers could certainly afford him if they believe he can improve the offence.

Despite new coaching staff, Panthers WR Terrace Marshall Jr. feels 'clear' heading into third season

Marshall had a fantastic collegiate career, despite his lacklustre NFL career. Marshall had 32 appearances and started 20 games while attending LSU. He caught 106 passes for 1,594 yards and 23 touchdowns while attending LSU. With 23 touchdown receptions in his career, Marshall is tied for fourth in school history.

One of just six players in LSU history with more than 1,500 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns, he is a big-framed receiver with excellent hands and route running.
