Julio Jones was once largely regarded as the league’s most dominant and physically impressive wide receiver. And it appears that the Philadelphia Eagles still see some of the veteran receiver’s physical prowess.
This week, the Philadelphia Eagles signed Julio Jones to a contract. Even though the 34-year-old veteran wide receiver isn’t nearly the same player he once was, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni stated that Jones still has “a lot of pop in his legs” and can help the squad with his athleticism.
“Does he still have the juice in his legs, the ability to run, the ability to get out of cuts, the ability to make plays?” According to Pro Football Talk, Sirianni said during his press conference, “All those things we thought were really still good.”
Jones joins a group of Philadelphia Eagles wide receivers led by studs A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith, so he won’t be the team’s primary target this season. But it’s evident that the team believes he has the athleticism to help them in the future.
