The announcement follows Jordan Grant and George Jennings’ exits.

Tom Eisenhuth is the newest player to leave the Melbourne Storm after George Jennings and Jordan Grant both officially announced their departures.

He joined the Penrith Panthers in 2012 to start his NRL career, although he only played in one first-grade match before spending the following five seasons with the NSW Cup team. He would sign with the Melbourne Storm as a lifeline in the middle of 2018.

He made his club debut in Round 1 of 2019 after spending the entire of 2018 playing with Melbourne’s affiliate team at the time, the Sunshine Coast Falcons. Since then, he has appeared in 58 games with the Storm, including 18 this season.

His professional background also includes playing for the Under 18 NSW Blues squad and being selected for the Junior Kangaroos’ interchange bench in 2012 against the Junior Kiwis.

“It’s been a really good one [journey], I came down here only playing the one game many years before, and I’m really proud to have played 50 games and a few extra for this club, it’s been an unreal journey,” Eisenhuth said in a club release.

“I was simply grateful for the chance; you put in a lot of effort to concentrate on your skill as a kid and to receive an opportunity and to have another shot at the dream, I was just happy for the opportunity… Simply put, I was really fortunate.

“I think I only managed to play a few games the year before, so it’s been a really wonderful year for me.

Therefore, to come out and play as much football as I did this year, avoid getting hurt, and play some quality football… It was frustrating that we were unable to get past the preliminary final, but for me personally, it was a really wonderful year.

The Storm player number 192 said, “This club has such a strong relationship with its old lads, and you know to have that number and be able to come back and catch up with all those people I’ve played with and even the ones that I didn’t… Simply put, having that connection is good.

Frank Ponissi, general manager of football for Melbourne Storm, commended the figurehead for his many years of dedication to the team.

Tom has been a crucial part of our team for a long time and is well-liked and respected by both his teammates and the rest of the club, according to Ponissi.

“Throughout his journey, Tom has demonstrated an unbelievable level of strength and resilience in surviving a string of injury setbacks. It is remarkable and a credit to the kind of person he is that he has responded to those difficulties in both on and off the pitch.

“We sincerely appreciate all that Tom, Hannah, and Henry have done for the club over the years. They are always welcome to rejoin the group, and we wish them luck in their upcoming endeavours.
