It’s a lot more fun to write a Detroit Lions studs and duds essay after a win, especially one like today. They marched into Raymond James Stadium and built a brick wall on the goal line, standing tall and gutting out a win in Florida. The victory puts them in a three-way tie for the best record in the NFL, and things are just getting better for the kneecap-bitin’ Kitties from Detroit.

Once again, the Lions have made it easy to identify the studs and harder to pick the duds. Today’s dominance was the result of an all-around team effort, from offence to defence, and even special teams. So, when we write about the duds, please understand that we are being a little picky, but we must press on.
Duds vs. Buccaneers
Again, this is really nitpicky, but the only “dud” to mention today is the offensive line. Yes, they were up against a punch-you-in-the-mouth front seven that raced rapidly to the ball and swarmed for tackles. Nonetheless, the offensive line struggled today in pass protection and opening rushing lanes. Jared Goff was sacked three times, the Lions were only able to carry the ball 22 times because to their 1.8 yards per rush, and Goff looked uneasy behind them for the majority of the game.
