breaking news: Aston Villa player misses training due to injury…

The custodian was not deployed as a substitute in Sunday’s 1-1 draw between Aston Villa and Wolves, but he has since joined his country’s team.

Keeper Robin Olsen of Aston Villa has missed training with his international team while recovering from an injury, according to Sweden’s manager Janne Andersson.

The 33-year-old, who was not used as a substitute in Villa’s weekend 1-1 draw with Wolves, has joined his national team. The custodian has only played once in the Premier League so far this year, coming in for an injured Emi Martinez in a 3-1 victory over Burnley on the road.

Olsen has been a member of every Villa matchday squad this season, but Andersson seems to imply that he may have had a minor injury. Sweden has called up Jacob Widell Zetterström to fill in while Olsen is still recovering.
“We adopted Jacob. Robin Olsen is in treatment today and tomorrow, according to Andersson, who spoke to Aftonbladet. “Jacob joins and trains with us for that reason.

“As for Robin, the margins are large. Although Monday is not a concern for me, he should be careful the first several days.

On Thursday, Sweden will compete in an international friendly against Moldova. The following Monday, when they go to play Belgium in Group F, they are then involved in Euro qualifying.
Seven points behind Belgium and Austria for third place in the group right now is Sweden. Prior to the match against Belgium, Andersson was dealt a serious blow when Newcastle attacker Alexander Isak withdrew from the team owing to an injury.

Sweden defeated Estonia 5-0 during the most recent international break before losing to Austria 3-1 at home. The national team is hoping that Olsen will be eligible for the match against Belgium because he started both of those games.
