IF THERE IS ANY MORE INJURY, SWINDON WILL SEEK TO ADD A DEFENDER.

According to Jody Morris, Swindon Town plans to sign at least one free agent defender to assist cover up their injury problem. After Town defeated Harrogate Town 3-0, Total Sport’s Joe Acklam met with the manager of the team.

When Ciaran Brennan was forced out in the first half of Saturday’s victory over the Sulphurites owing to a dislocated shoulder, he became Swindon’s fourth injury in the centre of defence and sixth absence overall at the back.

Adrian Mariappa, a 36-year-old Jamaican international with 64 caps who was released by Burton Albion in January and has been without a club since, is expected to join Town, according to Ryan Whelan of The Real EFL.

The medical professionals reported that Brennan’s shoulder was dislocated, but he continued: “I haven’t completely followed it up yet. They felt that it had popped out on the pitch.

“That is a major blow to Ciaran [Brennan] and a huge disappointment, but as we have

“We definitely want to [bring someone in], but there may be barriers in the road, so we’ll have to wait and see how things go after today.”I’ve already told you that we lack in that department and missed the deadline.

“We’ve been trying to get better, but it’s not as simple as some fans might imagine.

But we’re trying, and we’re crossing our fingers that we can figure something out before next week.

Morris also discussed Harrison Minturn, noting that he had the chance to participate but still needed to improve before he could play more frequently.

It was more of a tactical move, he claimed.

He is a young man, and we prefer to introduce new players gradually and give them a chance when things are going well.

“He is doing well, but like many of the boys, there are many aspects of his game that he has to work on.

But certainly, he is a player we are considering in light of how we intend to play going forward.
