Okay Yokuslu may be dropped by Carlos Corbern for West Brom’s game against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday (3 October).
West Brom will be hoping to build on a 4-0 victory against high-flying Preston North End at Deepdale on Saturday (30 September), which is definitely one of the season’s best performances.
That victory extended the team’s unbeaten streak to four games, and with a game against one of the division’s struggling teams coming up on Tuesday, Corberan may be tempted to make a couple of changes, with Yokuslu and Grady Diangana perhaps being dropped.
Despite a slightly patchy start, the Baggies will be pleased to be in eighth place heading into the midweek matchday, just three points out of the playoffs.
Corberan made many changes to his lineup for the game against Preston following a rapid turnaround from the draw against Millwall at the Hawthorns.
As Corberan tries to change things up again in their early push for promotion, Jayson Molumby and summer addition Jeremy Sarmiento could be given starting against Wednesday.
Alex Palmer is Corberan’s undoubted number one custodian, and he secured his third clean sheet of the season in an easy and assured win for the Albion at Deepdale.
Corberan will not be tempted to make any changes to his defence after a dominant performance on Saturday that saw Kyle Bartley join Matt Phillips and Darnell Furlong on the scoresheet, and the Spaniard will be desperate for some consistency as they face a Sheffield Wednesday side that is low on confidence.

Corberan’s three-man centre defence lineup of Erik Pieters, Bartley, and Cedric Kipre should remain, supported by the excellent Phillips and Furlong as wing-backs.
Yokuslu might replace Molumby in midfield, which would be a significant shift. Despite the win, the Turkish midfielder was underwhelming at Deepdale, winning only two duels, losing possession of the ball 10 times, picking up an unnecessary yellow card, and failing to win any of his dribbles before being sent off in the 66th minute [SofaScore].
The 29-year-old has been a key contributor for Corberan since his arrival in the west Midlands, but it won’t be surprising to see Molumby replace him alongside the brilliant Mowatt, who scored twice against Preston.
In attack, Corberan suddenly benched Brandon Thomas-Asante against Preston, and it was a wise decision.
The former Salford City attacker has deceived the Baggies on numerous occasions in recent weeks and months, and his demotion was well warranted with Jed Wallace given the responsibility up front.
Corberan could remain with that lineup, but he may be obliged to make one attacking alteration, allowing Sarmiento another chance to shine against a Wednesday defence that is in complete disarray right now.
Diangana made an impression against Preston, which would have increased his confidence, but Corberan will aim to hand the same opportunity to Sarmiento on Tuesday, alongside the mercurial and creative genius of John Swift.
They also know they have Sheffield Wednesday’s number in recent years, having not lost to the Owls since 2007.
That record has seen them go unbeaten in nine meetings, with the last two finishing in victories, and the Baggies will be expected to pick up another three points this time around.
Corberan has addressed a “crazy” decision he made against Preston in other West Brom news.
