Connor Jennings of Tranmere Rovers remarked about the ‘disappointing result’ after his team fell to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

“I thought we started off really well, positive, and obviously that led to the goal.”

“Two soft goals left us disappointed at halftime, but we started the second half really well, and then the sending-off made the difference.” It was a disappointing outcome.

“I believe we need to be stronger defensively as a team, as well as individually.”

“It’s a difficult one to swallow. The away performances haven’t been good enough, so that needs to improve quickly.”

Tranmere Rovers are thrashed by AFC Wimbledon.

Armani Little cancelled out Connor Jennings’ early opening, but three from Al-Hamadi levelled the game and moved the hosts into the play-off spots.

Within four minutes, a well-worked corner gave the visitors the lead, with Jennings pouncing at the far post to fire into the roof of the goal.

However, the game quickly turned on its head, and after Little’s deflected effort equalized, Al-Hamadi tapped home in the 32nd minute to give the Dons the lead going into the break.
