Whoever takes command of the Terriers for Monday evening’s trip to Coventry City – and the club hopes to make a permanent appointment before the game – will confront a pair of new injury concerns that arose during Wednesday evening’s 2-2 draw with Stoke City.
Huddersfield Town manager Neil Warnock took command for the final time for the occasion, but he lost midfielder David Kasumu to injury just before the interval and had to withdraw left-back Josh Ruffels as part of a triple substitution.
Town were also without Jonathan Hogg and Danny Ward due to injuries sustained against Rotherham United the previous Saturday. The captain was taken off the field due to illness, and striker Ward has been dealing with an Achilles injury. However, Warnock stated after the game that neither player was far from returning.
In defense, Yuta Nakayama made his first Championship start since rupturing his Achilles last December, and Tom Lees was included in a senior matchday squad for the first time this season after suffering a back injury.

Last month, the Japanese international started in the Carabao Cup and came off the bench against West Bromwich Albion right before the international break. Lees had been scheduled to play for the Town B team on Wednesday, but that game was canceled, forcing Warnock to promote him into the first-team squad.
