Nottingham Forest are being tipped to add six new signings to Steve Cooper’s squad this summer although a trio of stars are set to be shown the door.
The City Ground outfit are not expected to have anything like the wild summer of ins and outs they had prior to their Premier League return at this stage last year.
However, Cooper still wants to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign in a bid to avoid another battle against relegation.
And while additions are expected soon, there is also plenty of speculation over players who could be forced to move on.
Football Insider has revealed that Jonjo Shelvey, Emmanuel Dennis and Remo Freuler could all depart the City Ground this summer.
That would then leave the way clear for Cooper to add to his first-team squad, as Forest look to balance the books and ensure they comply with financial fair play regulations.xc
Everton defender Mason Holgate is a known target for Cooper, with the Toffees already agreeing to the player’s exit to get him off their wage bill – either on loan or permanently.
The 26-year-old has struggled to make an impact under Sean Dyche, despite the fact that he was the club’s Player of the Year under former boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Holgate made just nine appearances for the Toffees across all competitions in a season that saw the club beat the drop by just two points.
And while the report does mention any other names, Football Insider adds that five more signings could join Holgate the City Ground – if the Everton man agrees to a move.
