Latest Nottingham Forest news shows that the defender is settling in well after joining the Reds during the summer transfer window.

Excellent signings were made by Nottingham Forest throughout the summer transfer window. However, their very first signing was probably their best commercial decision.

Ibrahim Sangare will make headlines for signing a club record contract, and once he settles in, there is no question that he will demonstrate his talent. Anthony Elanga has already had a positive impact and will continue to improve. Callum Hudson-Odoi might end up being a complete steal. It appears that Nicolas Dominguez has tremendous potential. Additionally, Matt Turner has performed admirably in goal.

But Ola Aina is in the lead if consistency is what you’re after. He might not have as much of an impact on games or be the lone factor in the Reds’ quest to move up the table this season, but he has adapted quickly and been outstanding. This is what makes it such a beautiful piece of business: the fact that he was a free transfer simply makes it an even better option to secure his signature.

Kyle Walker of Manchester City outpaced Brennan Johnson, a former Forest attacker, to record the fastest speed in the Premier League last season, clocking in at an amazing 37.31 km/h. But at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, there was a brief period when Aina easily outran him.

He has a lot of advantages because he can play on either flank and as a wing-back or full-back. The 26-year-old is normally right-footed, but based on how well he has adapted to playing on the left, you wouldn’t know it. Aina exemplifies the flexibility that head coach Steve Cooper wants the Reds to play with both individually and as a team

Defensively, he has typically been strong as well. The Nigerian international averaged 2.4 tackles per game, falling short of Dominguez (five), Sangare (three), and Willy Boly (2.6), although playing less games than Dominguez and Sangare. With two clearances each game on average, he also does well in this category.

Aina signed a one-year contract with possibilities for additional years as he entered City Ground’s doors for the first time in the summer. It would be wise for Forest to get him restrained for a longer period of time right away.
