United don’t really have time to celebrate Saturday’s win at Burnley too much. Erik ten Hag’s men are back in action quickly, taking on Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night. A spot in the fourth round is up for grabs and Ten Hag will be desperate to build some momentum after Saturday’s win. This week presents one of those scheduling quirks as United face Palace twice at Old Trafford in the space of a few days, with fans no doubt expecting two victories.
Photos from United’s training session at Carrington this morning have emerged, and some of the players make interesting appearances.
Harry Maguire and Mason Mount were in training ahead of the Palace encounter, and a lot of young players were given opportunities.
United’s official website reports that Dan Gore and James Nolan were both in training, and 17-year-old defender Ethan Williams confirmed his participation on Instagram.
As seen above, Nolan was photographed alongside Christian Eriksen and Anthony Martial.
Ten Hag may be tempted to select Nolan on the bench against Palace tomorrow night, with a view to giving the teenager his senior debut.
