Everton considering a potential move to sign Sevilla electrifying midfielder who David Moyes believe is super

Everton have been linked with a January approach for Sevilla forward Adnan Januzaj as the Belgian international looks for a return to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old broke through at Old Trafford and appeared to have the world at his feet for a period, making his debut in August 2013, before scoring a brace over Sunderland a few weeks later.

Former Everton boss David Moyes occupied the Old Trafford dugout at the time, and insisted that Januzaj was ‘outstanding’, predicting he would be a ‘top player’.

Moyes said: “As far as debuts go, I would be surprised if even the great players in United’s past have shown such promise on day one. It wasn’t just the two goals; his whole game was outstanding.

We know we’ve got a really special talent, but we’ll keep his feet on the ground. He’s going to be a top, top player.”

However, the Belgian struggled to make an impact at United and subsequently went on a series of loans to Borussia 2and Sunderland, before securing a permanent move to Real Sociedad in 2017.

Everton might be best avoiding Adnan Januzaj, unless the price is rightNow at fellow La Liga side Sevilla, Januzaj has underwhelmed and could be moved on in January, with Everton reportedly interested in the attacker.

That is according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.net, who report that the Toffees are currently the only club looking at the former United forward.

Once compared to the likes of Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo, Januzaj’s career has not turned out as predicted and despite rediscovering some form during his time at Real Sociedad, the 28-year-old has far from fulfilled his potential.

With the likes of Alex Iwobi and Demarai Gray leaving Everton late in the window during the summer, the Blues could be in the market for an attacking player come January, but with three years remaining on his contract with Sevilla, just how much Januzaj would cost remains to be seen.
