Rangers came agonisingly close to winning the European League in season 2021/22 and the Ibrox club will be dreaming of another fairytale journey in the competition when they launch their group stage campaign against Real Betis at Ibrox.
It is the first competitive meeting between the two sides, who will both be confident of progressing through Group C which also contains Sparta Prague and Aris Limassol.
The Belgian has been an ever-present for Beale so far this season, starting every game in the Scottish Premiership and Champions League qualifying, but will join the likes of Todd Cantwell and Danilo in the treatment room.
Having been absent from training on Wednesday (20 September) Beale later revealed in his press conference that the 22-year-old would be out of action until after the international break with a calf problem.
In an Instagram story posted on Wednesday (20 September), he said: “Unfortunately I incurred a small injury.
“I’m trying to get back as quick as possible.”
The pressure is still well and truly on Beale and his team to improve their form after what has been a difficult start to the campaign and when trying to turn the side’s fortunes around, the Ibrox boss needs players he can trust fit and available.
To lose Raskin just as the season steps up a gear with European fixtures as well as the typical domestic calendar is incredibly bad luck for both Rangers and Beale and presents the Light Blues’ boss with yet another hurdle to jump.
Between now and the next international break, the Gers have six games across the Scottish Premiership and in the Europa League and Beale is going to have to find a way to ensure his side can keep winning and attempting to close the gap to Celtic without their main man in midfield.
Hopefully, Rangers can at least get a few of their other injured players back to offer some cover in the middle of the park and if the injury is as small as Raskin has made out, there is every chance he could recover sooner than expected.
In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson has picked out one player Beale will rely on “big time” this season
