According to 90min, Hugo Ekitike is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs. Everton, Brentford, West Ham United and Wolves are all in contact with the striker and keeping tabs on his potential availability.
However, at this stage, Ekitike remains committed to PSG and wants to prove his worth for the French giants.
The 21-year-old has struggled to make an impact in Ligue 1 so far this season, given he has only been given one brief cameo from the bench. With the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani, and Goncalo Ramos ahead of him in the pecking order, Ekitike may be forced to give up on his Parc des Princes dream before long.
If Ekitike does decide that he needs to leave PSG, then Everton may be well placed to offer him a new challenge. The young Frenchman is aware of the Toffees’ interested and has the potential to be a star at Goodison Park.
Ekitike would be an exciting addition to Sean Dyche’s struggling squad. The youngster has previously shown what he can do when given regular game time. In the 2021/22 season, when he was on the books at Reims, he bagged 10 goals in 24 Ligue 1 appearances.
Having failed to strike a deal for Ekitike in the summer, Everton spent £26 million to bring striker Beto to Merseyside from Udinese. Dyche needs Beto to quickly get to grips with the Premier League and add some cutting edge to his side.
Everton have only scored twice in the Premier League so far this season, with both goals coming against Sheffield United in a 2-2 draw. If the Toffees continue to struggle for goals, then a move for Ekitike may be a viable option in the January transfer window.
Sean Dyche has provided an Evertonteam news update ahead of Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Arsenal.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has missed the past two games with a facial injury he suffered in the 3-0 loss to Aston Villa last month.
