Birmingham City and West Brom could find themselves coming up against Reggie Cannon – who were they linked with in the summer transfer window.

A report from the Daily Mail claimed that Blues, Baggies, Stoke City and Burnley had all been interested in signing the 25-year-old this year. He became a free agent after winning his dispute against Portuguese side Boavista for unpaid wages.

The Express & Star however claim that despite being available for free, West Brom never made an offer to Cannon. Carlos Corberan opted to reunite with Pipa instead – who he worked with at Huddersfield Town – joining on a season-long loan from Ludogorets.

Birmingham meanwhile signed Cody Drameh from Championship rivals Leeds United – and have Ethan Laird at their disposal too so they were well stocked in the right-back department.

Stoke City meanwhile completed the signing of highly-rated Colchester United defender Junior Tchamadeu. The 19-year-old won the League Two Apprentice of the Year earlier this year.

Premier League outfit Burnley meanwhile didn’t sign a right-back on deadline day and instead signed left-back Logan Pye from Manchester United and left-winger Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye from Genk

Various reports including West London Sport however now reveal that Cannon’s next destination is set to be Loftus Road.

He has agreed a move to QPR, and can be signed outside of the transfer window because he is a free agent and there is a space in the Hoops’ squad list they they sent to the EFL earlier this month.

Cannon is expected to link up with his new teammates on Thursday, and as fate have it could make his bow against one of the clubs that had been listed as a possible destination.

Birmingham City face QPR at St Andrew’s on Friday night and so Cannon’s debut could come up against a side he could have been lining up for. West Brom face the West London outfit on Tuesday, October 24.
