After revealing initial proposals and being granted planning permission, the club said that the new 5,500-seater stand would be open in time for the start of next season.

However, today (September 20) the club has confirmed that due to a number of conditions, the contract has yet to be signed meaning the development has yet to start.

In the first episode of Welcome to Wrexham, s Ryan Reynoldand Rob McElhenney confirmed they had paid for the demolition of the old Kop stand themselves, and fans also got a glimpse of their reaction as they were told they were unsuccessful with the UK Government’s levelling up funding bid.

Now the club says they are waiting on the funding agreement to be signed by Wrexham Council, as well as a number of conditions and works that need to be completed before work can start.
