Rangers blow as report suggests key player to miss six games

Rangers are set to be without Brazilian striker Danilo due to injury for a “long period of time” as the player posted on Instagram following surgery on a broken cheekbone.

The 24-year-old summer signing from Ibrox opened the scoring in the weekend’s 2-0 win over St Johnstone, but a head collision forced the former Feyenoord striker off the field.
It was a huge blow for Rangers at the time and after the match, Michael Beale confirmed the player had had surgery on a broken cheekbone.

Now, the Daily Record have claimed that Rangers will be without the striker for a “long period”, meaning the club could be without the player until after the international break.

Conventional wisdom suggests that the striker is likely to miss a tense six-match series for Rangers with Michael Beale under pressure to feature in clashes with Real Betis (H), Motherwell (H), Livingston (H), Aberdeen (H ), AEL Limassol. (A) and St Mirren (A) until October 8. Even so, we expect Danilo will have to wear a protective mask when he returns from injury as Rangers fans wait to see their £6m summer signing return to the club.

Danilo also took to Instagram to thank Rangers fans for their support following the painful injury as the striker recovers.

In the photo taken from the player’s hospital bed, it can be clearly seen that the striker is still positive and hopefully we will see Danilo again soon.

On his Instagram Stories, Danilo shared an image of a hospital bed in the neurological ward at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with the Bible passage Psalm 121.
The attacker then shared another thumbs up image saying:
“Now it’s time to rest and recover, I hope to see you again soon! »
