“An exciting attacking midfielder, Daly joins The Reds from Hamilton Academical, signing a scholarship and agreeing a professional contract which will run until the summer of 2026.”

Chris McGuane, Forest’s head of academy, added: “We are delighted to welcome Cormac to Nottingham Forest in the next stage of his development as a player.

“He is a player who we have seen has potential and we are looking forward to working with him to maximise this opportunity on a daily basis”
Confirming Forest’s interest in the youngster last month, Rankin told the Scottish media: “Nottingham Forest have made an approach to say they are interested.

There have only been letters of interest; no negotiations have yet taken place. We’ll watch to see how that plays out over the next week or so as we receive many letters of interest in our guys.

“Winning the under-18 league will always draw attention, and the youngsters are currently preparing to enter the UEFA Youth League. Teams come to watch when you are at the top of the league. Teams looked at our under-18 team last season because many of them were interested in players like Josh McDonald and Cormac. What they choose to do with it is entirely up to them.
