Here we go, Taylor Funk, a former Aggie, signs contract with the Celtics.

Utah’s Logan – Taylor Funk, a former forward for the Utah State Aggies, has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the NBA’s Boston Celtics.

The news of Funk’s signing broke on Saturday, September 9.

For Ryan Odom’s Aggie club during his one-season stay in Logan, Funk started 34 games. He shot 45.1 percent from the field and 37 percent from outside the arc for averages of 13.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.

With 219 three-point attempts, Funk is seventh all-time at USU, while his 81 made three-pointers place him eleventh overall. As an Aggie, he reached double figures 23 times, with a season-high of 32 points scored against New Mexico.

Funk played in 120 games for Saint Joseph’s, starting 100 of them before transferring as a graduate senior to Utah State. He shot 35.3 percent from outside the arc and 42% from the field, averaging 12 points a game.

Funk participated in the NBA Summer League season as a member of the Miami Heat.

Utah State will compete in the Cayman Islands Classic November 19-21 as part of its non-conference schedule. Utah State will play 12 non-conference games, including rematches with Bradley (Nov. 11) and hosting San Diego (Dec. 6). San Francisco will travel to play the Aggies at the Delta Center on Saturday, December 16. Utah State will open Mountain West play at Air Force on Tuesday, January 2. The regular season will be completed with New Mexico visiting the Spruce Goose.
