Due to the international break, Derby County won’t be back in play until September 16.

The Rams will be trying to recover from their loss to Bolton when they restart league play against Portsmouth.

The Trotters defeated Paul Warne’s team 2-1 on a day that was adversely affected by Jake Rooney appearing to have a major injury.

Paul Warne provides an explanation for Eiran Cashin’s choice following the ‘failed’ transfer from Derby County to Brighton.

In the best-case scenario, according to Paul Warne, Liam Thompson will miss two to four weeks of action after suffering a quad injury in training.

The midfielder experienced the issue during last Thursday’s practice, missing the weekend loss to Bolton as a result.

It was a serious setback for Thompson, who had excelled in the victories over Peterborough and Fleetwood during this important season for the academy graduate.

Warne said after the game last Saturday that he had had a scan on the injury but hadn’t yet gotten the results.

“He did it on Thursday, and it was really nothing.” He completed it in the session’s first phase. As he attempted to shoot, the ball became stuck beneath his left foot, and he experienced a twinge in his quad.

“Two to four weeks is the best case scenario, and this is the best scenario. Eight to twelve is the worst case. I am not yet aware of any scan findings.

I’ll find out since nobody has truly said that this is Thommo’s report.
