Rounding up the latest news involving Sheffield United and their Premier League rivals
The latest transfer news and rumours from the Premier League include United being linked to Amad Diallo and claims they have taken a released Bournemouth youngster on trial.
Amad Diallo link surfaces
Sheffield United have been credited with interest in Manchester United’s young star Amad Diallo. The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Sunderland and impressed, scoring 14 goals.
The report claims United would be keen to take him on loan next season, but a number of clubs in the Premier League and Championship, including Burnley and Southampton, have already put their name in the hat, along with Sunderland wanting a return.
He’s a player the Blades recruitment team will be well aware of, having been admired by Slavisa Jokanovic at the start of last season but a move for the player never materialised.

Cherry picking
Left-sided central defender Chris Francis is training with United after recently leaving Bournemouth, it is being claimed. The 20-year-old is wanted by a number of clubs.
He played for Charlton last week in a friendly and also has interest from Sheffield Wednesday, Cardiff and Blackpool, the report adds. Although United are in the market for left-sided defenders, this is likely a move with the intention of placing him in the under 21s.
United’s move for Anis Ben Slimane has moved a step closer, after his club, Brondby, announced that he is not joining them on their pre-season tour to England due to the ‘possibility of a transfer’. Full story here.
