Bae Junho also made his debut as a substitute while Nikola Jojic had his opening minutes of the tournament and Wouter Burger and Mehdi Leris had their first league games.
The starting line-up and squad will start to settle as Stoke have endured a frantic first month of the season with seven games and steady transfer activity.
Neil, who is currently preparing to take a two-week international break, said:

I think when we have (Andre) Vidigal and (Ryan) Mmaee, we have a bit of continuity with the players that have played so far, but when they drop out, there will be a lot of disturbance.
“What’s going to happen over the next couple of games is that we’re going to find out where everyone is and who we think will be the team that will play regularly and the others that will fight to get into the team.
This will become more apparent over the course of several weeks.
Vidigal and Mmaee are still in doubt about the opening goal after breaking away at another of Neil’s former clubs, Norwich.
