Birmingham City 1-1 Millwall: star player seals point after Kevin Nisbit opener
Alex Dicken brings live coverage from Birmingham City’s Championship clash against Millwall at St Andrew’s
Birmingham City are back in Championship action today with a clash against Gary Rowett’s Millwall at St Andrew’s.
Blues have won both of their league fixtures at St Andrew’s to date and remain unbeaten in the Championship. But they face a Millwall side who have beaten Middlesbrough and Stoke City and are notoriously difficult to play against.
Blues enjoyed a busy end to the transfer window with the signings of Emanuel Aiwu, Cody Drameh and Oliver Burke. Burke – who has enjoyed two separate loan spells at Millwall – arrived at the death to take Blues’ transfer total to 13.
This is the final game before the season’s first international break, and a win would maintain the Blues among the early pacesetters in the Championship. In April, Blues overcame Millwall 1-0 in The Den thanks to a goal from Lukas Jutkiewicz.
Jutkiewicz will not play tonight as he begins his three-game suspension following his red card against Cardiff City in midweek. Alex Dicken will provide live updates and commentary from the 12:30 start at St Andrew’s…
Jay Stansfield scored for the second week in a row to earn Birmingham City a 1-1 draw against Millwall at St Andrew’s.
The Fulham loanee earned his maiden Championship start for the club, scoring early in the second half to cancel out Kevin Nisbet’s opener. Stansfield came in after Blues’ Scott Hogan missed a penalty in first-half stoppage time.
