That is according to a report from Spanish radio station Onda Cero, who claim that Osmajic to England is now ‘well advanced’.

It’s stated that Osmajic is in talks over a move away worth up to €2.5million (£2.15million).

The report highlights that Spanish rivals Elche had been interested in taking Osmajic on loan of the season

However, Cadiz want to sell Osmajic and that leaves PNE and Stoke as the two clubs battling it out.

The indications are that Osmajic will complete a move away from Cadiz before Friday’s transfer deadline, it’s just up to him to choose a destination

Both PNE and Stoke are seeking attacking reinforcements ahead of the transfer deadline and had been in the Tom Cannon race.

Yet with Cannon potentially heading elsewhere, both clubs are now having to look at alternative targets.

Stoke have been chasing West Bromwich Albion striker Brandon Thomas-Asante but have now had two bids rejected.

The Potters have already brought in two strikers this summer in Wesley and Ryan Mmaee, whilst Andre Vidigal has been playing up top

North End’s selling point will be that Osmajic would surely feature regularly if he picks a move to Deepdale.

Will Keane is North End’s only recognised striker right now and Ryan Lowe mostly played with two strikers last season, so there could be scope for Osmajic to feature prominently.

Osmajic, 24, is a Montenegrin international with 14 caps to his name and his speed on the counter is somewhat similar to that of Emil Riis.

Eight goals in 31 games on loan at Portuguese side Vizela was a decent record last season and after barely featuring for Cadiz, he will be looking to settle down elsewhere.

PNE take on Stoke this weekend and, if reports are to be believed, Osmajic could feature in that game – but which side he will be on is unclear
