Premier League side Nottingham Forest are closing in on a deal to sign Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi who has been training with the club’s under-21 side all summer.

The winger is keen to find a new challenge after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge and Forest are offering him the chance to get his career back on track.

Chelsea left him out of their pre-season and the £110k-a-week star has told friends he’s looking to move away this summer with just a year left on his current contract

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino said he was happy with the squad he had, almost signalling the end of Odoi and others who were left out of the team . He said: “I am really happy with the squad that we have got at the moment, so far,” Pochettino said ahead of Wednesday’s EFL Cup second-round match against AFC Wimbledon.

“If we add someone that maybe can improve different positions, of course, it is welcome. If not, I am happy to be how we are now

There has been an exodus of Chelsea academy players this summer with Mason Mount joining Manchester United and Trevoh Chalobah linked to Bayern Munich.

Chelsea are also not done in the transfer window with the board working to bring in another striker following the injury to Christopher Nkunku
