Wolves are about to make their third summer signing; the player is flying in for a medical.
Wolves are closing in on the signing of Paraguayan youngster Enso Gonzalez.
Reports surfaced yesterday the South American talent was a target for Wanderers.
And the story has moved pretty quickly, the Gonzalez reportedly now heading to England.
Wolves are looking to bring in a few new faces ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
Only Tom King and Matt Doherty – who scored twice in last night’s 5-0 win over Blackpool in the Carabao Cup – have joined the club this summer.
Financial issues have made things very difficult for the club.
But it looks as though there will now be some incomings…
Enso Gonzalez set to join Wolves
According to journalist Cesar Merlo, Gonzalez is ‘is a new reinforcement of Wolverhampton’.
He is said to be on his way to England, and he will undertake a medical at the club ahead of signing.
After last night’s 5-0 win over Blackpool, Gary O’Neil was actually asked about Gonzalez.
He would not mention names, but O’Neil said that there are currently a couple of deals are in the pipeline (via Johnny Phillips).
Other names to have been linked with the club over the last 24 hours or so are Habib Diarra, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and centre-back Santiago Bueno.
The ball is rolling for Wolves
As well as the information from Merlo, Phillips says that Gonzalez is now ‘expected’ at the club.
It sounds very much as though this is a deal that will go through.
Gonzalez is said to be a really talented young player with high potential.
His club Libertad recently produced a really exciting player who goes by the game of Julio Enciso, who is now fairly well known to fans of the Premier League following his move to Brighton.
Wolves will quietly hope that attacker Gonzalez can be in the same kind of bracket as the exciting Seagulls youngster.
