Matheus Nunes faces Wolves disciplinary action after taking drastic measure to secure Man City move

It has been reported that if Matheus Nunes joins Manchester City, Wolves will prioritise a transfer for Tommy Doyle.

This comes from the Telegraph, after the 21-year-old was linked with a move to Gary O’Neil’s side in late July as well.

Now, it seems like the Matheus Nunes transfer saga could determine whether Tommy Doyle leaves Manchester City to join Wolves.

Matheus Nunes to Manchester City could mean Wolves try to sign Tommy Doyle

Branded as ‘excellent’ by former Cardiff City boss Steve Morrison (via Manchester Evening News), the Englishman has been regarded as one of City’s most talented academy graduates for years now.

A gifted central midfielder, Doyle has a brilliant right peg on him, which allows him to have an expansive range of passing, being a dead-ball specialist and to top things off, he also has an engine on him.

Now, it has been revealed that Wolves could indeed formalise their interest in Tommy Doyle if Manchester City sign Matheus Nunes in the final days of the summer window.

Matheus Nunes signing for the treble-winners would benefit all parties involved

Considering how keen Manchester City seem to be about signing the 25-year-old, it would also help Wolves if they are handed the chance to sign Tommy Doyle as his replacement.

While the recently-crowned U-21 Euros winner is far from being as accomplished as the Portuguese international, he could play a similar role to him at the Molineux Stadium in central midfield.

Despite having been sent on loan spells to the likes of Hamburg, Cardiff and Sheffield United, the last of where he was terrific, Doyle seems no closer to becoming a first-team member at his boyhood club.

As a result, it would be best for all parties involved if Matheus Nunes dons sky blue as Tommy Doyle and Wolves could make for a solid fit.
