AGRRD: The 21-year-old talented would player prefer to go for Brentford than Everton, and his club concurs.
Hugo Ekitike could now join Brentford over Everton.
According to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas, the attacker ‘likes the idea’ of a move to Brentford and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen to send him there on loan.
Ekitike joined PSG permanently in a €30 million deal (£25.7m) this summer but already looks to be on his way out after being told he is surplus to requirements in the French capital.
After scoring three goals and providing four assists in Ligue 1 last season, Ekitike has attracted the attention of a number of clubs across Europe – including Everton.
The Toffees have reportedly already made an offer to PSG to try and sign the Frenchman on loan with the option to buy, however their valuation is far from what the Ligue 1 giants expect to earn from Ekitike’s exit.
West Ham are also said to be in advanced talks over a move, however it is Brentford that the 21-year-old is intrigued by.
Hugo Ekitike wants Brentford but Brentford may look elsewhere
Thomas has claimed that PSG and Ekitike like the idea of the Premier League outfit, however it depends on whether The Bees land their preferred targets.
Thomas Frank’s side are currently chasing Fiorentina’s Nicolas Gonzalez after submitting a £34m bid for the attacker, while they are also interested in Brennan Johnson.
The report claims that PSG are continuing to offer Ekitike around Europe, including Fulham and Everton.
The Toffees haven’t made any further offers in their attempt to land the youngster and have instead looked towards the likes of Johan Bakayoko, Beto and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
It would be a surprise if Sean Dyche’s side were able to afford any buy clause in Ekitike’s contract, while there has been no indication that the France U20 international would like to move to Goodison Park this summer.
