Referred to Football Insider by sources, Stoke City is getting close to acquiring the talented Serbian player from Mladost.

Stoke City are closing in on the signing of Serbian talent Nikola Jojic from Mladost, sources have told Football Insider.

A deal between the sides is nearing completion and could be finalised by Thursday evening (10 August

Mladost’s sporting director Nenad Milovanovic told Serbian outlet SportKlub (9 August), that the sides have been in talks over Jojic

Football Insider has now learned that a deal could be completed in the coming day.

The winger’s potential has been heavily discussed in his home country and there was a consensus that the teenager was destined to join a top club.

Jojic’s current contract in Serbia runs until 2025 after moving up from the youth side last summer

The 19-year-old made 38 appearances across all competitions last season, notching eight goals and ten assists in those outings.

Stoke have already revamped their attack with the signings of Wesley, Ryan Mmaee, Andre Vidigal and Chiquinho but boss Alex Neil is still in search of further reinforcements.

The Potters have also lost star man Jacob Brown who joins Premier League new boys Luton Town.

Stoke have also seen Nick Powell, Morgan Fox, Demeaco Duhaney, and Aden Flint leave on free transfers whilst centre-back Connor Taylor joined League One side Bristol Rovers.

Stoke also saw off West Brom in the first round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday (8 August) with a 2-1 victory.
