New voice Adolis García Agrees to Contract Extension with Texas Rangers Through 2028, Deal Worth Up to $30.25 Million,  including $14,000,000…

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers have secured one of their cornerstone stars for the long haul, announcing today that outfielder Adolis García has agreed to a contract extension through the 2028 season, with the deal potentially reaching $30.25 million through performance escalators.

The agreement marks a major step in stability for both García and the reigning World Series champions. The extension covers García’s final two years of arbitration eligibility and buys out two years of free agency, ensuring the 31-year-old slugger remains a key part of the Rangers’ core for the next four seasons.

García, a first-time All-Star in 2023 and one of the heroes of Texas’ postseason run, has emerged as a fan favorite and clubhouse leader with his powerful bat and elite defense. Known for his clutch performances, cannon arm, and charismatic flair, García has become one of the most electrifying players in baseball.

The base value of the deal provides García with strong security, while escalators tied to playing time, performance, and awards could push the total payout to $30.25 million.

“Adolis has earned this,” said Rangers GM Chris Young. “His energy, work ethic, and talent are the embodiment of what we’re building here. We’re thrilled he’ll continue to be a major part of our future.”

The move signals the Rangers’ continued commitment to building around their current core, which includes Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, and Josh Jung, as they aim to defend their title and build a lasting dynasty in Arlington.

García is currently hitting .276 with 20 home runs and 68 RBIs on the season. He leads the team in outfield assists and remains a vocal presence in the dugout.

“I’m happy to be staying in Texas,” García said in a statement. “This organization gave me a chance, and I want to keep winning here.”

More to come as details of the deal unfold.
