BREAKING NEWS: top star player has revealed what he believes Newcastle United should strive for this season, which should thrill fans….

Bruno Guimaraes has now shared what he believes Newcastle United should be aspiring to this season and it should get fans excited.

Newcastle were handed the most difficult Premier League start with Aston Villa, Manchester City and then Liverpool as the first three games.

Two games down with three points on the board and only falling to a narrow defeat to the best team in club football, Newcastle fans, backed up by an impressive transfer window, can feel confident that this could be a huge season for the Magpies.

Bruno Guimaraes has high hopes for Newcastle this season

Speaking to ESPN Brasil after Newcastle’s defeat to Manchester City, Bruno Guimaraes hasn’t lost any of the confidence he has in the team, telling the reporter (via The Chronicle), what he believes should be Newcastle’s target this season.

“Look, I’m confident,” said Guimaraes. “I think our goal this year is to win a trophy for the club. We have four competitions to play. I believe we have the team for that. Last year we lost the Carabao Cup to Manchester United

“So this year, I believe that our objective, without a doubt, is to do well in the Champions League, qualify again in the Premier League, try to win a title in the cup or even in the Premier League.”

Last year Newcastle players and staff were very cagey when asked about their ambitions for the season, but now the secret that Newcastle are once again a Premier League force is out, they appear to be much more open about where they feel the club should be.

Newcastle now have the depth to compete on all fronts

You’ll probably not get Eddie Howe outright saying we’re going for titles, but at the same time he won’t deny that his side are in it to win it as far as every competition is concerned.

I hedged my bets before the season kicked off saying I’d be happy with top 8 in the league, getting out of the group stages of the Champions League and having a decent cup run again, but after seeing how we played against Aston Villa, and the fight we put up against City, I see no reason why we won’t be in those Champions League spots again this season.

As for the cups? Why can’t we win one this time? There’s no reason why we can’t……
