Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea will all be trying to chase down Man City this season and will require signings to do so

These are the latest transfer rumours from the Premier League and around the world on Tuesday, August 22.

United submit bid for keeper and hold striker talks

Reports in Turkey state Manchester United have submitted a €7million bid for Fenerbahçe keeper Altay Bayindir.

Erik ten Hag is on the lookout for a back-up stopper to number one Andre Onana who was signed from Inter earlier this summer.

With Dean Henderson unwilling to play the role of understudy at Old Trafford, a signing in the goalkeeping department is a must before the transfer window closes.

Journalist Gokmen Ozcan (vai Sport Witness) states United have offered “around €7million plus bonuses” for the goalkeeper.

However, Bayindir is currently the number one for the Turkish giants and may need to be persuaded to be a back-up option.

Meanwhile, other reports have stated United have held talks with Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

The forward is currently banned from football due to betting breaches and can’t play until January.

FootballTransfers claim Toney is open to the move. Tottenham are also said to be keen on the 27-year-old.

United target ‘agrees terms’ with Liverpool

Manchester United target Andre has “agreed terms” with rivals Liverpool.

The Reds have already brought in Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo this summer and now look to be bringing in their fourth signing in the shape of Brazilian midfielder Andre.

Brazilian journalist Emmanuel Luiz has told RedmenTV: “Manchester United went to Andre’s camp to talk to them about a possible negotiation. What they said [was] the player has personal terms agreed with Liverpool, personal already agreed. That’s done.

“The player said to Fluminense, the situation today – I called some guys close to Andre – and they said to me, Andre said to Fluminense ‘I want to go to Liverpool, I want to go, I have personal terms agreed’. That’s fine but what Fluminense said [was] we are not going to say right now because of the Copa Libertadores that we already know.

“So Andre said ‘I’m going to talk to them [Liverpool].”

Liverpool are prepared to pay £25.8million for the 22-year-old.

Arteta: Gabriel not for sale

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says defender Gabriel will “play a lot of games” for the Gunners this season amid rumours he could leave for the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia Pro League Club Al-Ittihad have been heavily linked with the Brazilian and his continued absence from Arsenal’s starting XI has fuelled those flames.

He was named on the bench for the season opener against Nottingham Forest and again against Crystal Palace on Monday.

Asked whether there was any meaning to his absence from the team at Selhurst Park, Arteta said; “Nothing at all. It’s about the games we were expecting, how I wanted to defend and attack.

“I believe it was the best thing, he played in both games and helped us win both games.

“He was really good today when he came on, he was dominant and will play a lot of games.”

Chelsea eye Arsenal striker

Chelsea are reportedly keeping tabs on Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun.

The US international’s future with the Gunners appears to be over, with Arteta open to letting the forward go.

But the north London club will demand up to £50million for the star who spent last season on loan with French club Reims.
