Last season the versatile midfielder was hampered with injuries and he made just eight league appearances, scoring twice in those.

The attacking midfielder returned to Chelsea earlier in the summer and now reports are suggesting Pompey are closely monitoring the youngster.

It goes on to claim other sides across Europe also hold interest in the former England U20 international.

John Mousinho confirmed earlier this summer his side had interest in the youngster and with the deadline approaching a decision will have to be made soon

If a team can do that then they have a really strong player on their hands. Anjorin can control games behind the striker and isn’t shy when it comes to goal contributions.

The 21-year-old has registered many promising campaigns in Chelsea’s youth squads, but he needs a platform to build form and consistency at senior level.

Portsmouth in League One could be a perfect opportunity. Mousinho’s side look like they have a good setup this year to try and push towards promotion to the Championship.

Adding Anjorin to their ranks before next week’s deadline day would only boost their chances.

It remains to be seen which club Anjorin will end up at this summer, and it may come down to which side can offer better game time promises to Chelsea.

Up next for Pompey is a game against Fulham U21 in the EFL Trophy tonight. They then make the trip to Stevenage this weekend as both teams look to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign
