Latest Nottingham Forest news as former star player looks set to join West Ham…..
Former Nottingham Forest forward Jesse Lingard has been told a move to West Ham “will happen” this summer – if it works for both parties.
The 30-year-old has been training with West Ham in recent weeks as he looks to build up his fitness while in search of a new club. Hammers boss David Moyes was coy when asked about a potential deal for Lingard last week, but his assistant Kevin Nolan has been more forthright in lifting the lid
Nolan told BBC Radio 5 Live that a deal for Lingard is on the cards, with the London Stadium feeling like his “second home”. Lingard left Forest earlier this summer upon the expiry of his one-year contract. He made 17 Premier League appearances for the Reds.

Talking about Lingard and his chances of signing for West Ham, Nolan said: “Listen, he had a fantastic six months with us.
“He re-energised himself, he re-energised the club and he did what he needed to do. I think because of that, the gaffer has said to him: ‘Come in and train with us.’
“He’s not quite up to match fitness, at the minute. I think we will continue to assess as we go along.
“But Jesse, the first day you see him, and he says it: ‘I feel like it’s my second home and I feel like I need to be here to go again.’ If it works for both I think, it will happen. But that will be up to the boss. All we have to do is sort of see how he does over the next couple of weeks.”
